![]() Regarding the Sega stuff, I can understand the resentment due to the ad campaigns if you were a Nintendo fan. Yeah they aren't stupid reasons at all, quite legit really. (Not sure why that stopped me from just occasionally renting a Genesis at Blockbuster though) Eventually got over it but by then I was going through other Bad Shit in my life so I could never justify a console to my parents. I wilfully avoided everything Sega for my entire childhood because of the edgy ~attitude~ ad campaign and shit-talking Nintendo. Never got around to the registered versions of a lot of shareware just because I didn't have a "cheque or money order" or credit card, but I guess that just goes back to "couldn't justify expense" in a family that never, ever ordered anything by mail. I am thinking very lowly of MP games nowadays, yes, mostly because well, there is no MP without other people, isn't it? And since the decent ones are hard to find there's just no point. And they probably already have an established group and only play with you when one/some of them are unavailable - aka "you're not my first choice". I've managed to find some decent people to play games such as L4D in parties and it was pretty darn fun a few years ago, I've had quite a few gold moments, but they will inevitably dump you if you suck at the game. The party requirement is equally horrible as well, best of luck finding people who stick to the very end of the challenge and don't quit halfway through, kick you, cheat, or aren't plain trolls. All I know is I quit playing Final Fantasy 14 because the story kept requiring me to do dungeons, which require parties of 4 players to run.Įh, for me it used to be fun to interact with strangers years ago, and potentially finding new players to have fun with, but later I inevitably got overwhelmed by the toxicity and vitriol waiting to explode in some people frequenting them, and with time the skill gap has also grown exponentially, and I'm no longer having any kind of fun or enjoyment/satisfaction in entering a server, match, arena, dungeon, quest, or whatever, just to get nuked into orbit.Īctually this could be an expansion of that point I've made, not playing MP games because I suck at them. I just don't enjoy interacting with anonymous players, even if they're saying absolutely nothing. Honestly this for me, too, and not even because of the toxicity half the time. ![]() ![]() wrote:- Any and all competitive/MP games due to absurdly high toxicity and idiocy that is plaguing these titles - also cheaters and frustrated kids/overgrown kids.
